The artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure boom is creating thousands of manufacturing jobs as companies race to build the data centers needed to power the technology.

Compass Datacenters has helped create more than 7,000 permanent factory jobs nationwide, according to "The Big Money Show," as growing investment in AI infrastructure drives demand for workers who build and support data centers.

The expansion is also creating opportunities for skilled trades, including electricians. The panel noted that the industry already faces significant workforce turnover as electricians retire, even before accounting for additional demand generated by new data centers.

President Donald Trump is expected to highlight American manufacturing and the economy during a visit to a logistics facility in Maryland on Tuesday as he campaigns for Republicans ahead of the midterm elections.

The panel argued that AI could become a source of higher-value jobs and new business opportunities as investment in computing infrastructure continues to expand.
